Uplift – ABA Kindergarten Program

UPLIFT is like a supercharged kindergarten for kids with autism, usually aged 5 to 8. Think of it as the next step after our START RIGHT preschool-style program. In UPLIFT, we’re not just building on the basics; we’re diving into advanced social, communication, and learning skills.

The UPLIFT ABA therapy program is a mix of social activities, group exercises, and personalized sessions. Kids work one-on-one with an ABA therapist, tackling their developmental goals while honing social skills crucial for a traditional school setting. We focus on kindergarten and elementary school skills, like getting along with peers, following instructions, and working in both solo and group settings.

UPLIFT Schedule

UPLIFT runs year-round alongside START RIGHT, with morning and afternoon sessions. The full-day program is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with morning sessions from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and afternoons from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We’re open on weekdays, and depending on the clinic, scheduling may vary. For families looking for extra therapy beyond 3 pm, we’ve got options to suit your needs.

UPLIFT Curriculum

Your child’s UPLIFT journey blends structured group activities with personalized therapies, aiming to prepare them for the social and learning demands of a regular school. We’re working on more advanced skills than START RIGHT, so kids need to have nailed the basics first. UPLIFT focuses on:

  • Expressive communication
  • Appropriate social interactions
  • Fine motor skills
  • Independently completing routines
  • Basic social-emotional skills

Activities like Circle Time, Advanced Social Skill Activities, Group Lunchtime, and School Readiness Development are part of the routine. Each child has unique programming goals aligned with their needs, worked on in a social environment with similarly skilled peers.

Kids in UPLIFT can opt for additional therapies during their regular schedule, like Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Feeding Therapy, Counseling, or Physical Therapy, depending on their specific developmental needs.

Benefits of the UPLIFT ABA Therapy Program

One significant plus of UPLIFT is grouping kids by skill level. This shared foundation helps them collectively tackle higher-level group and social skills. As schools heavily rely on communication and social skills, this advanced learning eases the transition for kids with autism. For START RIGHT graduates, UPLIFT is a chance to continue school readiness preparation in a more advanced setting.

Graduation from UPLIFT

UPLIFT acts as the bridge to traditional school settings. A successful exit means the child is ready for first grade, and well-prepared for the challenges ahead. Most UPLIFT participants graduate when they start first grade. With specific programming and daily progress tracking, therapists and parents can identify mastery of UPLIFT goals earlier than expected.

If a child faces challenges in the school environment, our CORE after-school therapy program offers extra support during their transition to school life.
