School Anxiety & Refusal Virtual Program For Teens Ages 13-18

Program Overview

At AIGAS, our Virtual Adolescent School Anxiety & Refusal (SAR) is designed to offer short-term stabilization for participants grappling with mood and anxiety symptoms leading to school avoidance or refusal behaviors. Whether it’s avoiding specific classes or outright refusing to enter the school building, we understand the diverse nature of school avoidance. Physical symptoms like headaches or nausea are also considered in our diagnostic approach.

We employ specialized assessment tools to uncover the root causes behind the avoidance behaviors, tailoring a treatment plan based on individual strengths and needs. Our team of SAR-trained clinicians, including primary and family therapists, education specialists, and group therapists, collaboratively work to equip adolescents and their families with skills to manage symptoms both in the program and in their daily lives.

What to Expect

Our multi-disciplinary team at AIGAS crafts personalized treatment plans for each patient, offering a 100% virtual IOP program. Designed with interactivity and breaks to combat “Zoom fatigue,” our program ensures clinical outcomes equivalent to in-person care. With exceptional patient satisfaction ratings, we provide a comprehensive approach:

  • Full psychiatric evaluation
  • Regular consultations with a dedicated psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner
  • Daily structured group therapy
  • Regular individual and family therapy sessions
  • Ongoing reassessments and modifications to treatment plans

Our academic support goes beyond treatment, offering daily education services during the school year. This includes supervised study time, case management, and coordination with the school team to address the unique needs of each adolescent’s return to the classroom.
